PUTRAJAYA: The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry has apologised for the delay in payment of welfare aid, assuring recipients that the financial assistance will be credited to their account by Nov 10.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the delay was due to technical issues involving the distribution of allocation to agencies under the ministry, which she is under her.
“The allocations have been approved but have not been credited into the accounts. Insya Allah (God willing) this will be overcome by the 10th (of November).
“The ministry apologises for the delay,” she said when met with reporters on Tuesday (Nov 5).
Prior to this on Nov 1, Welfare Department director-general Zulkifli Ismail had issued a statement saying that the payment of welfare aid to 484,828 recipients for the month of November was late due to technical issues.
