BANGKOK (ANN): Wilawan Phayanoi, deputy director-general of the Comptroller General’s Department, revealed on Thursday (Nov 28) that her department is readying more than Bt700,000 (US$27,000) for those who registered with the ‘Shopping for the Nation’ campaign earlier this year to receive a 5% VAT refund.
“This campaign is in accordance with the Finance Ministry’s policy to promote the economy during Chinese New Year and the submission of VAT data via www.epayment.go.th, ” she said.
“Those who registered and made purchases during the Chinese New Year festival (Feb 1-15,2019) will be entitled to a maximum Bt1,000 VAT refund per person by the end of November.”
“The Comptroller General’s Department has finalised the processing of VAT data of each registered person and will transfer money to their registered promptpay account starting Friday (Nov 29), ” she added.
“There are 6,918 registrants in total with an accumulated VAT refund due of Bt705,440.”- The Nation/Asia News Newtwork
