Is the general concept of pushing to the cloud correct?
I have a question regarding using the cloud for storing data.
Most of the cloud services out there seem to be geared towards a more active scenario of constantly pushing new data to the cloud (e.g. Facebook).
If I’m creating some kind of application that does not require constant data updating (e.g. a simulation, or some kind of image processing), is it better to use a cloud service that pushes new data to me, or should I simply upload my data to my computer and store it there?
I know there are alternatives to the cloud, such as storing my data in a USB key, or just dumping data onto a hard drive.
I’m just curious if the cloud concept of constantly pushing new data to me is a realistic use-case.
